Dfsk Glory 580 engine crankshaft position sensor failure solution

  Model: Dfsk Glory 580, equipped with 1.5TGDI engine model HD15A.

  Customers reported that the vehicle sometimes turns off automatically when the traffic light is in the middle of driving, and it is normal during driving.

  Fault description:

  After the engine is on, the idling speed is unstable, and there is abnormal noise in the engine timing box. The engine will automatically turn off when idling for about 1 minute, or it can be accelerated just after starting the car. The engine will turn off as soon as the throttle is dropped.

  Failure analysis:

  Use the computer to read the engine fault code, the engine control unit reports: P0336 crankshaft position sensor A circuit range/performance

  Fault code picture

  Check and analyze the fault code of "Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance". First, the sensor circuit is faulty, the sensor itself is faulty, and the engine computer is faulty; second, the sensor installation position is wrong, the installation gap between the sensor and the crankshaft signal plate is faulty, and the crankshaft The signal disc gear ring is damaged; 3. The engine timing adjustment system malfunctions...

  According to the failure phenomenon one by one speculation, from simple to complex, starting from the circuit/system test to check and analyze the cause of the failure.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and check whether the crankshaft position sensor is loose and installed correctly. If the sensor is loose, check whether the sensor and O-ring seal are damaged. Replace if necessary.

  2. Oscilloscope test the signal waveform of the crankshaft position sensor:

  Figure 2 Exhaust pressure waveform when abnormal

  3. Incorrect waveform may be caused by malfunction of engine timing system or crankshaft position sensor.

  Analysis of the engine may have the following conditions: debris and dirt in the engine oil, damage to the crankshaft signal plate gear ring, timing chain, tensioner and sprocket wear or damage, if debris is found in the engine oil, check the engine Internal mechanical parts to determine the cause.

  Repair or replace all worn or damaged parts. See "Cleaning and Inspection of Camshaft Timing Transmission Parts" and "Cleaning and Inspection of Crankshaft and Bearing".

  Repair process:

  Based on the principle of changing from simple to complex, the engine control computer was repaired without any abnormalities, and the crankshaft position sensor was first replaced for the test run, and the fault remained

  Treatment measures:

  Replace the engine timing chain, timing chain tensioner, chain guide, intake and exhaust sprockets;

  Refer to the maintenance manual to perform timing adjustment and installation;

  Suggestions:

  Refer to the dfsk glory 580 maintenance manual, replace the timing chain, chain tensioner, intake and exhaust sprockets, and replace the oil filter. After more than 100 kilometers of test run, the customer’s previous problems did not occur, and the failure was completely resolved.

  Failure reason: Porsche Cayenne intake and exhaust sprocket gap is too large; Porsche Cayenne timing chain gap is too large;
