Car door mirrors become the mainstream of reverse mirrors

The shape of truck rearview mirrors has undergone a series of changes in the past ten years. At present, due to regulatory requirements, all medium and heavy trucks are factory-equipped with door mirrors. However, for light trucks parts , since there are no legal restrictions, door mirrors can be seen on the new light trucks.

Mainstream light truck door mirrors are the most common and the market share is rising

Japanese truck door mirrors are standard equipment, and most of the domestic truck technology is derived from Japanese cars, so this design has also been inherited. In the early days, the door mirrors were the most used for light trucks or medium and heavy trucks.

However, with the development of the market, the share of door mirrors in domestic light truck rearview mirrors has become higher and higher, and the current holdings occupy an absolute leading position.

Fukuda series light trucks basically adopt the design of door mirrors, and some small and micro cards have door mirrors.

The light truck of the Jiefang series also basically adopts the door mirror control design.

At present, most of the light trucks of brands such as Jianghuai, Foton and Jiefang adopt door mirror designs. The advantage of this design is that it can make the appearance of the whole vehicle more coordinated and beautiful, the short jitter of the frame is small, and the clarity of the field of vision when driving is better.

Of course, door mirrors also have some shortcomings, such as a large amount of head rotation of the driver when observing the rear situation, which is easy to cause fatigue. The protruding distance of the whole vehicle is small. If the body is too wide, it is not easy to observe the rear part of the vehicle, etc., but these have not affected it to become the mainstream configuration in the market.

Dongfeng, Qingling, Jiangling still have a large number of models with door mirror design

The frame of the door mirror is fixed on the A-pillar of the cab. The mirror is in front of the front of the car. Many old domestic trucks use door mirrors. However, according to the current situation, the visibility of the door mirrors in mainstream light trucks is constantly decreasing.

There are also a large number of models of Jiangling light trucks that use this type of door mirror design.

Dongfeng, Qingling, Jiangling still have a large number of models with door mirrors in their new products. The door mirror has many advantages, such as simple installation and low price, and it also allows the driver to observe the road conditions behind without turning his head. Because door mirrors have better vision and better safety, many users now convert door mirrors into door mirrors by themselves after buying a car.

Of course, door mirrors also have shortcomings. For example, the frame is too long, which makes it difficult to see the road conditions when driving, and it is easy to scratch obstacles in some narrow venues because of the excessive swing.

It is a trend to equip door mirrors. Many light trucks upgrade the rear door mirrors of the cab.

Judging from the current trend, the market share of door mirrors will become smaller and smaller. The HOWO and Haoman light trucks that I have come into contact with, used door mirrors the previous year, but when I look at them again this year, the new models of these two brands have begun to use door mirrors.

The National VI HOWO light trucks exhibited at this year's annual meeting also adopted the design of door mirrors.

The new cab exhibited at the annual meeting began to adopt door mirrors

According to the manufacturer’s technical personnel, there are two main considerations for changing the door mirror to the door mirror. One is that the jitter of the door mirror is smaller and the field of view is clearer, and the other is that the rear view of the door mirror is wider.

With the improvement of domestic light trucks and heavy load capacity, the chassis is required to have good rigidity, and the corresponding vehicle jitter will be greater. The use of door mirrors is more in line with the actual use of light trucks. For example, Jiangling, Qingling, micro card, small card, etc. can use door mirrors because of their small loading capacity, good chassis flexibility and relatively low jitter. However, in terms of overall trends, door mirrors are the mainstream design solutions in the future.
